On May 21, 2010 in Bologna was held the high level conference “Africa, 53 Countries, One Union”, sponsored by the Foundation for World Wide Cooperation led by Romano Prodi, former Italian Premier and former European Commission president. Invited speakers, among many others, the UN Deputy Secretary Asha Rose Migiro, several presidents of African countries, representatives from OECD and World Bank, as well as European Commissioner for Development Asndris Piebalgs.
